Sportscenter Interalumnia

Venezuela, 1981

A system of walls, columns, stairs, floors, and windows in a minimalist configuration. The bodies and discipline of athletes competing in the pool, gymnasium and track and field are generating forces of this project. The pyramidal stair, the cylindrical balcony, the rhythmic modular openings are precise architectural forms which express a concern for the national and poetic. The building as stadium; the building as an instrument to measure space.
